SUMMARY

• Supervise all diagnostic radiologic examinations performed by the X-ray Department.
• Supervise all personnel working in the X-ray Department.
• Maintain daily schedule for employees.
• Supervise QC and QI and have representation at meetings.
• Maintain equipment.
• Budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Have knowledge of, and accepts the philosophy and objectives of the x-ray department and Clark Fork Valley Hospital.

• Supervise all employees in the department.

• Responsible for ordering and keeping all supplies available for x-ray department.

• Responsible for scheduling.

• Responsible for making any changes in the diagnostic procedures, recommend changes in personnel to administration and economy measures where appropriate.

• Responsible for department QA and participating in PI projects as needed.

• Work in cooperation with the radiologist while making every attempt to respond to the needs of the radiologist and the patients.

• Have the ability to perform all duties as described under job description of staff radiologic technologist.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associate's degree (A. A.) in appropriate discipline or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Must be licensed by the State of Montana to perform radiologic procedures.
• Should have at least three years experience in clinical radiology.
• Should be in good physical, mental and emotional health.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Should possess a good knowledge of general radiology theory and practice including positioning, technique, fluoroscopy, film, processor, and equipment.
• Should have familiarity with the organization and function of all departments, policies, and procedures, as they relate to the imaging department.
• Should also maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the literature and new developments in the radiography field with emphasis on hospital and x-ray work.
