Senior Field Engineers lay the groundwork for all of our projects and coordinate the "nuts and bolts" of work on site and are a key to the success of the project. Duties and Responsibilities Provide layout for excavation, sheeting, and shoring. Be able to read/interpret layout drawings. Understand the fundamentals of layout, and use of the instrument and other layout tools. Develop sense of sequence of the work. Review and interpret schedule to assure layout is timely. Provide quantity take off for concrete required for pour. Examine contract drawings for conflicts. Recognize where conflicts are most likely to occur. Provide building line and grade. Locate inserts. Level decks and check level during pouring operations. Study drawings and determine insert locations. Provide other site/facilities layout as required. Produce and maintain accurate record set of field calculations. Know what records are required, and where and how to place them in the record books. Monitor subcontractors' performance with emphasis on quality of work and safety. Develop sense of what is/is not acceptable quality from various trades. Physical Demands Work outside, as required. Walk and work on uneven surfaces, heights, climb ladders, climb and work from scaffolding. Work flexible hours, and overtime when required. See with clarity (naturally or with correction), have accurate depth perception and acceptable peripheral vision. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Lift and carry 50 pounds. Hear sufficiently to respond to verbal instruction, warning bells, and alarms. Requirements 3 year’s experience Safety minded OSHA 10 Proficient in simple math, geometry, and trigonometry. Able to figure deflection angles and solve curves. Proficient in the computation of rectangular and polar coordinates.
