Position Summary

The Shipping Associate is responsible for ensuring all jobs on the daily shipping schedule are processed in a timely and efficient manner. This position uses software programs to process shipments and packages them for delivery.

Essential Functions

• Monitors daily production schedule and actively looks for jobs in production that are complete.
• Packs boxes accurately and efficiently in accordance with outlined specifications.
• Reads internal job tickets and understands how to execute specific shipping functions.
• Familiar with different shipping methods and services.
• Works cooperatively with other departments to help achieve manufacturing goals.
• Assists in light handiwork/maintenance/cleaning as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge & Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of shipping experience required.
• Experience navigating web browsers and working knowledge of MS Office Applications including Excel and Word preferred.
• Experience with established shipping software including UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager a plus.

Education and License Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid CT driver’s license and a clean driving record required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely lift up to 75lbs.
• Ability to safely push/pull up to 100lbs.
• Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
• Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel, twist, and bend freely.
