Senior Product Owner

As a Senior Product Owner, you’ll sit within the Product Innovation team where you’ll be delivering a strategic business operations scalability solution designed to improve software quality and reduce time to market for customers onboarding to Clarity’s software platform. As the voice of the customer, you’ll be leading an agile team to deliver features against a product roadmap and working across teams to manage impacts and dependencies.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate and negotiate with leaders across the organization in managing the product roadmap, prioritizing features and releases
  • Serve as scrum master for the agile team, including facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint retrospectives and stand-up meetings
  • Perform analysis, leveraging your knowledge of SQL and business process mapping, for new or enhanced features prioritized on the roadmap
  • Translate business needs into improved process flows, written user stories with acceptance criteria, wireframes and mockups that describe the ideal user experience and back end behavior
  • Regularly review user stories with business owners and stakeholders, in alignment with product roadmap priorities, to gain feedback and facilitate story pointing
  • Collaborate with and lead the agile team to establish sprint deliverables, dependencies, and help to clear blockers that impede sprint progress
  • Assist the QA team in identifying test scenarios and expected results
  • Regularly demonstrate functionality of completed stories delivered in each sprint
  • Act as a SME for the product, receiving feedback from users and other stakeholders to improve the product and refine the roadmap
  • Maintain product and sprint backlogs in conjunction with the product roadmap
  • Assist with compiling training materials
  • Manage releases in coordination with the agile team and stakeholders, compile release notes 
  • Work across teams to manage dependencies and impacts related to your product, including optimized business processes and software architecture
  • Work with the Product Innovation team to manage the overarching product roadmap
  • Present executive summaries describing the features that were or are planned to be delivered, illustrate the business value of those features

Education

  • BS degree in business, computer science or MIS preferred
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Agile professional or product owner certification is a plus

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5-7 years of related experience and in an agile software development environment
  • 3 years of experience in a product management or product owner role
  • Experience leading scrum teams
  • Exceptional leadership ability and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional active listening skills
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, eager to learn and willing to dig in
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills within and across teams at all levels
  • Strong planning, time management, task prioritization and organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong competency with JIRA and Confluence
  • Intermediate knowledge using SQL to perform analysis
  • Adept flexibility and conflict management skills in a fast-paced environment

Experience working within the healthcare industry is a plus
