The Sr. Cost Analyst will be accountable for and oversee:

  • Collecting and analyzing complex financial information related to manufacturing expenses, seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts and to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Reconciling inventory movements for month end reporting, cost journal entries and reconciliations, tracking and understanding manufacturing variances, and developing standardized reports that will help guide business decisions.
  • Monthly preparation of inventory journal entries and reconciliation of inventory sub-ledger.
  • Analyze inventory value and ensure inventory is properly reserved.
  • Ensure manufacturing expenses and transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Assist with manufacturing budget and actively monitor spending.
  • Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports, detailing changes in operational spend.
  • Develop metrics to analyze and track manufacturing variances.
  • Support cost analysis for manufacturing expansion projects.
  • Partner with accounting teams to identify and implement best practices for inventory and cost related transactions globally.
  • Create and prepare standardized reports and analytics to help monitor business performance.
  • Consolidate and develop reporting and KPI’s to better understand customer and business trends.

Qualified Candidates will have experience, skills and abilities including:

  • 5 years of accounting/finance experience working in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • “Friendly” collaborative approach to working with others
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, Experience with MS Dynamics a very strong PLUS!

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the role
  • Must be prepared to work extended hours on occasion, especially during month-end close
  • Matrix management style organization

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Candidates local to the Phoenix, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale, AZ area are encouraged to apply as there is not relocation package offered at this time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $92,207.00 - $96,012.00 per year
