HEY! We are looking for you. Robinson Hill Architecture, Inc., is currently looking to hire a Job Captain with commercial knowledge and experience in retail, restaurant, and hospitality. What do we need from you? Good question, someone who is a problem solver, adaptable, flexible, dependable and be able to communicate clearly with the team. We are looking for a passionate Job Captain who will be responsible for developing construction documents. In this position, you will work closely with the Project Managers to understand the needs of the projects. You will also be expected to create detailed drawings and specifications, as well as oversee the construction process to ensure that the final product meets the design standards.. You should also have working knowledge of ADA & building codes. Be a Team player who can add to the office Culture, communicate clearly, and is willing to learn. This position is full-time in office. Responsibilities: Delegate tasks to draftsperson, construction administrative duties, assisting Project Manager in preparing design development and construction packages, project drawing documentation of elevations and details, city submittals, and coordinating with consultants as needed. Other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Principal Architect.

Skills & Knowledge

• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, & 3D Rendering
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Knowledge of California Building Codes, Code research knowhow
• Knowledge of Title 24 Code Compliance, Code research knowhow
• Ability to complete ADA Survey
• Able to communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and jurisdictions.
• High level of organization and attention to detail, complete tasks
• At least 5 years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Equivalent Work Experience
• Multitasker – be able to work on and track multiple tasks / projects
• Ability to organize & prepare documents from Design Packages to Construction Documents
• Ability to fill in the gaps, think critically, see what else is affected by the task at hand
• Ability to generate accurate building plans and sections for all construction types.
• Ability to detail conventional construction
• Understand consultant scope of work responsibilities
• Ability to address plan check corrections without PM involvement
• Able to prepare Occ Load, Area, Exiting, LOD plans as well as Plumbing Calcs

Salary Range : $52,000/yr - $67,000/yr based on experience
