Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Pittsburgh, PA

Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is looking for a Project Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is full time in our Pittsburgh, PA (Moon Township) office. 

  • As a Project Accountant, you'll be responsible for client invoice processing and analysis, project revenue recognition and performance analysis for multiple CEC profit center offices.
  • You'll be responsible for compliance with client proposal and contracts including project set-up, rate verification, related data entry, invoice preparation and submittal, and project close-out procedures.
  • You'll maintain regular communication with Project Managers, Principals and Vice Presidents that are involved with customers, in order to meet all budget, job cost and invoicing needs as required.
  • You'll provide reporting and participation in monthly project review meetings with CFO, COO, Profit Center Vice Presidents, Principals and Project Managers including review of accounts receivable, work in progress and project budgets.
  • Weekly tracking and input of equipment and truck usage
  • You'll be responsible for monthly financial project review to analyze billing rates, expense markup and write-offs for proper revenue recognition and profitability. 
  • Proper GAAP compliant revenue recognition.
  • Provide assistance as requested for proposal and pricing submittals.
  • You'll assist with ERP (Deltek) system improvements and documentation.
  • Deadlines and schedule demands may require overtime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business;
  • 0-5 years of professional experience (engineering and consulting industry experience a plus);
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook along with aptitude for learning internal systems and accounting system;
  • Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (oral and written);
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines;
  • Attention to detail
