Overview
As an Environmental Scientist with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Toledo location, you will be directly involved with environmental compliance monitoring projects. Your primary responsibility will be completing field projects, including: assisting with and leading field sampling activities for groundwater, surface water, air and soil investigations; observing boring installation, soil sample collection and bedrock coring activities; field screening of various media for evidence of environmental impacts; and documenting groundwater monitoring well and piezometer installation activities. You will also assist with reporting activities, including managing and interpreting data, developing groundwater flow maps and geologic cross sections, and report development.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science or related field
- 0-2 years’ professional experience
- Drilling observation and environmental media sampling experience
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a pickup truck
- Detail oriented
- Ability to speak and write professionally
- Working knowledge for Microsoft Excel and Word
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
