Civil Engineer – Land Development

Introduction

Civil Design Group (CDG) is seeking a Civil Engineer with two to six (or more) years of experience in Land Development and AutoCAD Civil 3D skills to join our growing team. Salary range, $75,000-$105,000.

CDG is a small team-oriented, client focused engineering group located in south Lincoln, Nebraska. CDG’s primary focus is to deliver value designed civil engineering projects for single family, multi-family and commercial land development projects for private sector clients. 

As land development engineers, CDG employees evaluate undeveloped property and create development plans with the objective of enhancing retail marketability while minimizing design, grading, and utility construction expenses. The goal is to help clients maximize overall project profitability by creating highly desirable yet efficient-to-implement land development and infrastructure design plans.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design with AutoCAD Civil 3D software, MS Word and Excel.
• Evaluate site usefulness and provide design solutions for grading, utility and paving construction elements.
• Design street network and lot layouts.
• Develop detailed grading and infrastructure plans.
• Assist in interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
• Exercise initiative, judgment and knowledge as required in areas of responsibility.
• Manage projects and clients appropriately.
• Attend meetings with clients and agencies as needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Certification as an engineering intern (EI) or licensure as professional engineer (PE) required.
