CITY OF SPRINGFIELD ILLINOIS is Hiring a TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST I Near Springfield, IL
The Office of Public Utilities, Information Systems Division is seeking an individual to provide technical support for personal computer hardware and software in stand-alone and network environments. Provide Help Desk functions dependent on Tier I or Tier II support requirements. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college with courses in computer science and one year experience with PC hardware and computer operating software, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. A valid Class D driver’s license is also required. Must pass the required background investigation and sign the departmental confidentiality statement. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.
