Hourly Rate $14.38
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
1. Prevent Accidents by:
A. Enforcing the rules and regulations set up by the pool management.
B. Eliminating or minimizing any potential physical hazards or unsafe conditions.
C. Constantly be on the lookout when on duty for situations that could result in accidents in the water, on the deck, or diving boards.
2. Rescue and Emergency Care of an Accident Victim:
A. Enter the water to rescue person(s) in trouble only if other methods of rescue have been exhausted.
B. Resuscitate accident victims.
C. Administer first aid to the injured.
3. Maintain the Swimming Pool Deck and clean and sanitize dressing rooms.
4. Assist as needed in any area of the Pool when requested by the Head Lifeguard, Assistant Manager, or Manager.
5. Courteous treatment of Patrons, as well as fellow Staff Members, required at all times.
Per the American Aquatics and Safety Training Classes in North Carolina, Lifeguard Certification Prerequisites include:

1. Minimum age: 15 Years
2. Swim 300 Yards Continuously using the breast or front crawl
3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to return to the starting point. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
