City of Springfield, Illinois is Hiring an OUTREACH MANAGER Near Springfield, IL
The Lincoln Library is seeking an individual to lead the library’s community outreach efforts and activities; identify, build, and manage partnerships with community members, organizations, businesses, government officials, and other entities; provide active, strategic leadership for library-wide outreach activities including oversight of Mobile Branch (bookmobile). The Outreach Manager will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data on program effectiveness and community needs, and providing reports and recommendations to the Director. Perform and direct highly complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge, its application, and the exercise of independent judgment. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Communications, Social Work, or a closely related field. Master's Degree in relevant field and/or MLIS/MLS preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of professional-level experience in operating and administering community outreach, neighborhood/community assistance, or community programs or events. Equivalency: A minimum of five (5) years of recent professional work experience working in outreach or community engagement, especially related to at-risk populations, may be substituted for the education requirement above. A valid Class D driver’s license and the ability to operate a large non-commercial vehicle (16-passenger van or step-up vehicle) is also required. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the City of Springfield during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.
