City of Sioux Falls is Hiring a Controls Technician Near Sioux Falls, SD

$24.58 - $26.70 hourly

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the design, programming, installation, calibration, function testing, maintenance, and repair of a variety of specialized electronic monitoring, control, and communication equipment, including Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens.

Responsible for implementation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system projects related to new or modified facilities including application programming, application design, graphics development, and other activities in accordance with existing policies, procedures, and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or GED certification supplemented by two (2) years’ specialized education or vocational technical training in industrial automation or electrical technology and two (2) years’ experience in computer-based control systems; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Ability to work varied schedules to accommodate a 24-hour-per-day, 7-day-per-week operation.

Willing to work standby and extended hours when required.

Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver’s license.
