Under limited supervision, assists in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility and pump stations. Performs duties in compliance with all regulatory criteria established by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. Duties include conducting plant inspections, monitoring chemical storage tank levels, and performing maintenance on equipment at Wastewater treatment facilities.
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years of experience working in a wastewater treatment plant as an operator
Must be physically able to operate a vactor truck, crane truck, tractors, back hoe, boat, front in loader, bull dozer, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing tools, meters and a variety of other small tools. Must be able to exert in excess of one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of fifty pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of twenty pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to one hundred pounds.
