city of lubbock is Hiring a Part-Time Recreation Specialist I Near Lubbock, TX

Monitors scheduling, organizing, and implementing recreation programs.
  • Supervise recreation employees;
  • Attend meetings and events regarding the department;
  • Assist the public by providing information to inquiries regarding events and programs in Lubbock;
  • Perform some clerical duties as required;
  • Perform related duties as directed.
Completion of two years college coursework in recreation, or a related field; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:Knowledge of:
  • Office administration and procedures;
  • Computer programs, principles and procedures.
Ability to:
  • Develop, promote and implement recreational programs, activities, and special events;
  • Operate a personal computer;
  • Collect and analyze data for user needs assessments;
  • Design and produce publicity brochures, flyers, calendars and other promotional or informative documents;
  • Direct or teach various classes and other projects at the center;
  • Accurately collect and account for revenues from donations, rent, class fees, and concession sales;
  • Requisition and maintain recreational equipment and other supplies;
  • Maintain records and prepare pertinent reports;
  • Supervise the work of others;
  • Work independently in the absence of specific instructions;
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
