Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide customer and utility billing services. Employees in this classification perform accounting and administrative support work. Position is responsible for invoice payments, lien processing, and customer assistance. Performs related work as directed.
Processes financial forms such as invoices, check requests, reimbursement forms, and other requests for payment.
Processes liens and releases; assists customers in lien inquires.
Prepares Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for department.
Resolves complaints or problems with vendors, customers, and other departments.
Processes payments from customers for liens and payments to vendors.
Establishes and maintains records and files pertaining to utilities financial transactions.
Perform routine office functions such as mail distribution, filing, faxing, answering phones, copying, and servicing office machines.
Prepare various reports documenting events and activities in area of responsibility.

High school diploma or GED; nine (9) hours of college accounting, law, or finance credits supplemented by minimum three (3) years previous experience and training that includes governmental utilities bookkeeping/accounting and customer service; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
