Job Summary and Distinguishing Features of the Work:

This is skilled work in the repair and maintenance of a variety of automobiles, trucks, and heavy and light automotive equipment.

Work involves inspecting and diagnosing the condition of automotive equipment and completing repairs as needed. Work is reviewed by a supervisor through periodic inspections and the performance of equipment after repair.

• Diagnoses, adjusts, repairs and services a wide variety of automotive equipment.
• Performs repairs to brakes, engines, lawn equipment and various repairs as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, safety equipment checks, greasing and lubricating.
• Responds to road service calls.
• Operates various types of shop equipment, machinery and specialized tools.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of shop and surrounding area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Education: Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school.
• Experience: One (1) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive and construction equipment; or,
• Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Licenses: Valid Georgia commercial driver’s license
