City of Cleveland is Hiring a Data Warehouse Architect Near Cleveland, OH

Data Warehouse Architect
Provides top-level technical expertise in the overall design, planning, execution, and operations management of new and established data warehouses, data management solutions, and data presentation/visualization platforms. Provides technical support and leads complex data management and integration projects. Works with Senior Management in the development of and leads the implementation of strategic data management programs. Works with various data owners to ensure that the information required by management is available, accurate, timely and reliably. Under administrative direction, coordinates and supervises all phases of designated program and project development and administration. Assists with or performs special projects as assigned. Provides training and technical assistance within and outside of the department as directed. Prepares and delivers presentations. Plans, develops, and administers projects and programs within a work unit. Reviews and evaluates program/project impact. Identifies project resources, requirements, methods, impact, and techniques. Prepares funding proposals and government reports. Monitors program contracts for compliance with terms and specifications. Conducts field site visits as necessray. Performs other job-related duties as required.A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Public Administration or related field from an accredited four year college or university is preferred. Three years of full time paid progressively responsible management/supervisory experience in program and/or project development is required. Should be proficient in computer and software applications (Microsoft Office Suites) and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.Preferred Qualifications: 
  1. Formal Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence/Analytics or related field.
  2. Experience and Training Required: At least five to seven years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, data integration, and data management, modeling, and reporting.
  3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience to elicit requirements and developing constructs in conceptual and logical data models to support business requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of data architecture and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong conceptualization skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to architect and design data and reporting solution.
  • Ability to design documentation standards for current systems and change requirements.
  • Ability to research and integrate new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups from C level management and all throughout the organizational structure.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing industry and verticals.
  • Knowledge in data warehousing approaches and dimensional modeling including hierarchical structures, star schemas, facts and dimensional entity-relationship designs, cubes, and other over-time data model representations.
  • Knowledge of meta data management tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills 
Essential Functions:
 
The following job specific requirements should discuss the essential duties and responsibilities required of the position. 
 
  1. Establishes standards and best practices for organization’s data architecture and data requirements by working with stakeholders.
  2. Facilitates group discussions to obtain business objectives, business rules, and requirements for data environments.
  3. Designs core database assets, data modeling, data management and data integration solutions.
  4. Designs, implements, and manages ETL and ELT processes to ensure efficient and accurate data transfer within data environments accountable for.
  5. Performs source system analysis and meets with business stakeholders in order to create the requirement for the definition of data models, data mart designs, OLAP models, and Business Intelligence architecture diagrams.
  6. Develops data standards in terms of nomenclature, storage, design and deployments.
  7. Defines data/information architecture standards, policies, and procedures for areas of responsibility. This role facilitates consistent business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design and translates strategic requirements into usable enterprise information.
  8. Prepare design for all metadata according to various ETL processes.
  9. Perform troubleshoot on all ETL processes and resolve issues efficiently.
  10. Analyze all data warehouse architecture goals and identify skill requirements for same.
  11. Develop both physical and logical data models.
  12. Strong expertise and program development using SQL standards and other data management languages (python, R, VB scripting).
  13. Develop and maintain database scripts and tools to facilitate automation processes.
  14. Develop various ETL and integration processes and prepare OLAP cubes for business intelligence reporting.
  15. Evaluate all proposal requests and assist to improve structure of data warehousing capabilities.
