Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs duties requiring the use of hand tools; shovels asphalt, dirt, sand, and rock; cuts grass, cleans sidewalks, rakes leaves, and directs traffic on job sites, paints street and sidewalk markings and washes City equipment and vehicles. Also, picks up debris from city properties and streets, drives city vehicles to work sites and operates mowers, weed-eaters, leaf blowers, compressors and jackhammers. REQUIREMENTS: * Requires a valid driver's license. * Ability to use and properly maintain hand tools such as shovels and brooms. * Must have the ability to communicate effectively when dealing with the public and co-workers. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Indoor and outdoor working environment in all weather conditions. May encounter hazards from working in extreme weather conditions as well as exposure to hot material, hazardous material, dust, and other allergens. Hours: 32 hour work week; 4 days a week; Will be required to purchase or furnish your own steel-toed safety shoes.
