City of Junction City, KS is Hiring a Recreation Supervisor Near Junction, KS

Position Description
The primary duty of our 12th Street Recreation Supervisors is to monitor the use of the Community Center on a given shift. This position assists in the planning, organizing, coordination and administration of community recreation programs for seniors, adults, and youth, including cultural arts, physical activities, special interest classes and summer programs. Major Areas of Responsibility
Assists in the implementation of activities, classes, programs, cultural arts, physical activities and special interest activities.
Opens and closes Parks & Recreation facilities.
Sets up tables and chairs for classes and programs.
Performs needed evening and weekend custodial and maintenance work, including sweeping and cleaning; stocking bathrooms and other areas with supplies; wiping down kitchen and mopping floors as needed; performing other custodial or maintenance work as required.
Provides passive security for the recreation center and grounds.
Assists recreation staff in the development and implementation of community recreation programs.
Assists in the supervision of classes, workshops and activities for persons engaged in recreation programs and co-sponsored programs.
Responds to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.
Promotes interest and provides information regarding recreation programs to school officials, other recreation officials, community service groups, and the general public.
Assists patrons in the proper use of the games and instructs them in the general rules of the games and activities.
Education/Experience/Requirements
Graduation from High School or GED equivalent.
One year related experience including community center use; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification in First Aid and CPR or have the ability to get certification upon hire.
Ability to coordinate varied activities involved in a community recreation program; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public; communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Valid State Driver"s License or ability to obtain one.
Physical Demands (put an * next to essential functions)
Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.*
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The ability to sit frequently.
Must be able to speak and understand the English language.*
Must be able to reach for and use required tools, objects, or equipment*
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors and the general public.
