City of Indianapolis and Marion County is Hiring an Assistant Chief Financial Officer Near DPW, IN

Position is responsible for assisting the CFO in managing activities related to planning, establishing, and controlling the Department's annual budget, as well as all financial and related systems and procedures.Assists the CFO in organizing and implementing the annual budget planning process.
Assists the CFO in organizing and implementing the annual audit reporting process.
Assists individual managers in the preparation of their related budgetary process, if necessary.
Compiles and analyzes data; prepares reports for submission to the CFO.
Generates monthly financial reports.
Develops and/or assists the CFO in overseeing the development of systems supporting the department's financial processes including system design, specifications, testing, and implementation. This includes various spreadsheets & databases.
Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.
Maintains supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing team members, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
Acts as proxy for the CFO including attending CFO meetings and other situations which require financial representation or approval for the department as so delegated by the CFO.
Generates various comparative and trend analysis reports as requested by the CFO.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred and a minimum of five (5) years of prior related experience in financial positions with progressive responsibilities required. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and procedures relative to all areas assigned. Ability to analyze, project, and utilize spreadsheet(s), database(s), and other software is required. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet various deadlines is a must. Ability to communicate effectively in both forms – oral and written. Knowledge of governmental accounting & budgetary procedures preferred.In the absence of the CFO, or as so delegated by the CFO, this position may establish policies and procedures for the Department in order to regulate and control the budget and any process associated with it. Independent judgment is regularly utilized when there are no available policies and procedures and errors in judgment may cause inconsistencies and inconveniences as well as regulatory and budgetary problems.
