The City of Fort Myers seeks an innovative and experienced law enforcement executive to lead all aspects of a high performing police department to build upon the data driven and strategic approach to crime reduction and public safety. The successful candidate will have a documented career history and track record of implementing successful policing strategies and a reputation for being a visionary leader with the ability to partner with the community and develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while executing the business of the department with integrity, respect, accountability, enthusiasm and professionalism. Must demonstrate a successful record of leading people, possess strong communication, organizational, budget and fiscal management and administration skills.

• Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, Public Administration (Master's preferred) or related field AND a minimum of ten (10) years (15 years preferred) of command / executive level law enforcement management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Florida Driver’s License and meet the requirements of State Police Minimum Standards as authorized in F.S. 943.13.

• A graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Southern Police Institute or equivalent management / leadership development program.

Competitive salary with excellent benefits, starting salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience within a range of $160,000 to $175,000.
