The purpose of the position is to plan and implement programs and processes for athletics, Recreation Center leagues and camps, or senior activities. This is accomplished by coordinating marketing and media efforts; overseeing recreation, athletic, and special event programs; recommending policies and procedures; identifying, planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising programs for children, adults, and seniors, with involvement in managing sports programs and volunteer coaches, swim program/services, athletic camps and leagues, and related senior and recreation center events; and providing oversight and direction of recreational programming, athletic camps, senior activities, and tournaments. Other duties include assisting with center operations; recommending budget expenditures; and maintaining records and reports.

• Plans, organizes, and implements programs by overseeing a variety of sports, recreation, and senior center activities at parks, school facilities, and baseball/softball/soccer fields; identifying sponsorships and volunteer opportunities; attending and monitoring events; and coordinating equipment, supplies, and registrations; 
• Assists with part time staff, volunteers, and participants by recruiting, training, supervising, directing, and evaluating performance; 
• Supports programs by maintaining supplies, equipment and materials, and coordinating equipment and supply needs; 
• Coordinates marketing and media efforts by planning and marketing events; preparing flyers and brochures; and booking tournaments, activities, events, and athletic camps; 
• Provides administrative support by greeting visitors, answering calls, and responding to requests; researching general information; receiving payments; processing invoices; creating and reviewing budgets and expenditures; processing requests for services; and researching accounts; and
• Performs other assigned duties.

• Associate’s degree; 
• Two (2) years of related work experience;
• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Knowledge of City policies and procedures;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skill in the operation and use of standard office software which includes databases and presentation programs, along with standard Microsoft products;

• Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing; and
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected and appointed officials;
