City Brew Coffee - Roasting Division is Hiring a Production Specialist Near Billings, MT

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position performs a variety of tasks involved in the manufacturing, packaging and delivery of coffee products by following established procedures, to produce product according to company specifications, quality and safety objectives. Strong mechanical skills and an ability to understand food safety regulations are required.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Follow all operating procedures and work in a manner consistent with corporate, regulatory, food, quality and sanitation requirements.
  • Operate coffee packaging and roasting machinery meeting all productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
  • Operate and maintain equipment used to handling materials (fork lift, pallet jack, hand trucks, etc.)
  • Roast, grind and package coffee products
  • Unload, load, and stock products on pallets, shelves, floor racks, etc.
  • Follow guidelines to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment
  • Complete all logs, checklists, forms, reports and paperwork as required
  • Tear down and re-assemble equipment as required.
  • Assist Production Manager/Quality Control Manager in creating or modifying standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Drive company vehicle and deliver orders.
  • Follow company safety practices

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • A current certification to operate a forklift or the ability to certify.
  • Mechanical skills
  • Ability to prepare and operate machinery.
  • Ability to Perform light mechanical repairs to keep machines running
  • Able to work well with a team
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to take direction and work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work any schedule that management deems necessary
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English, to prepare and comprehend logs, records, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma, or comparable education and experience; strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous work experience in production, manufacturing, packaging, agriculture, warehouse or other regulated industries required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Continually required to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Good physical strength (to effectively handle materials for loading and unloading)
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment.
  • Ability to perform all necessary physical activities without restrictions.
  • This position spends most of the time on the production floor performing physical duties related to the manufacturing of coffee products.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a complete background check.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
