Citru County Sheriff Office is Hiring a Purchasing Coordinator Near Inverness, FL

Starting Pay Rate: $17.73/hour
General Description: This position is a regular, full-time position working day shift, Monday through Friday and, as otherwise required, based upon the needs of the agency. Required to work during any natural or manmade disaster and/or emergency. The Purchasing Coordinator performs a variety of tasks, requiring knowledge of purchasing and budget management, to support effective and efficient operations of the Agency’s Financial Services Division.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the purchasing of equipment, supplies, uniforms and other agency issued items for all sworn law enforcement and non-sworn personnel
  • Research and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality products are delivered in a timely manner
  • Serve as a liaison in negotiations of pricing for new and expiring contracts
  • Create requisitions and issue approved purchase orders to vendors
  • Review and manage purchase orders according to the budget set forth
  • Assist employees entering the Employee Distribution Center for ordering and distribution of supplies
  • Routine office tasks including back up to the Receiving & Distribution Coordinator as needed
  • All CCSO employees are considered ‘essential emergency workers’ and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Requires one year of experience, within a logistics or supply division, of purchasing and/or inventory control job tasks
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs used in modern accounting practices
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve efficiently within time sensitive deadlines in a very face paced environment
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have an understanding of inventory software programs

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. often
  • Bend, kneel, squat or stand for extended periods of time often
  • Drive agency owned motor vehicle on occasion

Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver license required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or resident alien
  • Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent
  • Must not have tattoos on your hands, neck, or face
  • Must not have used, tried, experimented, or possessed ANY illegal controlled substance in the past 12 months
  • Must not have used, tried, experimented, or possessed ANY illegal controlled substance classified as a schedule I or II substance (excluding marijuana) in the last 5 years
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation including drug testing
