JOB TITLE: Nurse Practitioner

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Health Services

FLSA: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $130,000 (BOE)

ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.

CPN Health Services personnel may be assigned to provide services to patients of all ages including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening.

JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for patient evaluation and management. Determines the urgency of the patients conditions and refers to the appropriate clinic staff member if necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Performs initial and follow up health histories and physical examinations.

· Order and interpret results from appropriate diagnostic tests including, but not limited to, clinical laboratory studies, x-rays, and EKG’s.

· Initiate routine therapy.

· Initiate referrals to other disciplines on the health care team.

· Counsel the patient and his/her family as to the preventative care, medical problems, and the prescribed treatment including drug therapy.

· Engage direct physician supervision and consultation when appropriate. Refer patients with complex management issues to physician when appropriate, and manage collaboratively at physician’s discretion.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

· Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

· Some computer knowledge. 

· The ability to work in a high stress environment. 

· Must have good problem solving skills. 

· Must have the ability to work as an individual and also as a team. 

· Personal commitment to the highest level of clinical care possible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

· Must maintain an Oklahoma license and kept in good standing. 

· Responsible for all continuing education requirements. 

· Physician supervision for prescriptive authority.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

· The ability to be seated or standing for prolonged periods of time.

· Some bending, stretching, kneeling, and lifting will be required.

· Repetitive computer work.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 

· General clinical environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens and patient body fluids.
