Hold your breath and dive into the action: you are about to live an extraordinary experience! The Production Manager performs a variety of responsibilities in support of Resident Shows Division shows and projects, with emphasis on project management, maintaining production quality, rehearsal coordination, budgeting and communication with all other departments. The role participates in the full life cycle of selected shows or exhibitions, from pre-production work through its day-to-day operation. The Production Manager will: - Be responsible for the overall project management. They are accountable for the project scope and respect of the strategic alignment, resources, milestones, budgets, partners/client point of contact, vetting process and quality of the product delivered. Once the contract is signed: - Act as the single point of contact for the client and internal stake holders;- Acts as the liaison officer within the key players of the organization in regards to the project delivery;- Manages the project team and ensure their alignment throughout the creation, production and delivery phases;- Identifies the project stakeholders, understand their objectives and strategy et establish the action and communication plan to contribute to the success of the project;- Manages the project while collaborating with the Business development, VP Production and VP Creation throughout, in order to respect specifications, quality standards, best practices, budgets, etc;- Ensure the monitoring of the executive milestones checkpoints through the governance process established throughout the development and delivery of the project;- Work in conjunction with the Operations Manager in planning and scheduling, material procurement, preparation of invoices and collections;- Utilize financial systems to review actual vs estimated contract cost and to provide timely and accurate financial reports. Help maintains accurate and up to date job cost records, master project folders and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports;- Be responsible for the administration of jobsite operations which may include estimating, pricing, quoting, order processing, payroll processing, billings and/or collections;- Help develop and implement operations strategies that improve installation and service delivery and provide additional value to customers in a cost-effective manner;- Manage and assist with touring show support requests on a weekly basis including supply chain procurement of consumables, parts, and equipment replacement;- Effectively communicate project requirements to project team and wider organization as and when required, maintain accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports;- Participate in planning and coordinating all phases of production, to the objective of overall department awareness and functionality. Act as a liaison between (RSD) departments, road shows, independent contractors and clients and outside vendors as assigned. Facilitate communication between general production and accounting. Inform Resident Show Support Services of all of the important matters which require immediate attention, with recommendations as appropriate;- Liaise with Producer and/or Resident Support Services to provide work direction to production assistants, production personnel, office support personnel, and production department needs as required; - Assist Operations Manager and Ticketing Manager in supplying touring units with rigging plots and seating maps for all venues;- Participate on a per-project basis in the research and creative development of new and/or re-mounted productions, which includes direct coordination with the director, choreographer, music director, writer, designers, RSD staff, Costume shop staff and production team throughout concept, development, pre-rehearsal and rehearsal phases of the assigned project; - Participate in revisions and downsizing of main stage touring shows, including script changes, translations for international show configurations, flow charts, costume character availability, music restructuring, voice royalty calculations and scenic alterations, including video and other technical aspects;- Provide guidance and expertise to Road Technicians for troubleshooting venue, production and equipment issues including, but not limited to, carpentry, rigging, props, set and other show elements;- Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:- Two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field; Bachelor’s degree is preferred;- At least three years of previous experience in Engineering, field or Project Management experience in a live entertainment or similar environment;- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;- Proficiency in Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD;- Excellent communication skills; - Fluency in English, both written and spoken;- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to, standing, sitting, bending, crawling, climbing, crouching and kneeling, often for extended periods of time;- Ability to work in various environments exposed to elements including, but not limited to, dust, fog, etc. for extended periods of time;- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted; - Ability to operate or train to operate various lifts and heavy equipment.
