CICONIX has an exciting new opportunity for Research Data Coordinator to support the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence’s (TBICoE) mission in Silver Spring, MD. (HQ 15-YEAR LONGITUDINAL STUDY)

Position Summary:

Research Data Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assuring integrity of all data and data systems associated with TBICoE clinical research investigations. Research Data Coordinator will ensure compliance with local, state, and/or federal regulatory requirements. Research Data Coordinator will participate in analysis and interpretation of data and will assist with the preparation of technical reports and summaries.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs statistical analysis and provides analytical support to Investigators engaged in TBICoE clinical
• Runs descriptive analyses, frequencies and completes data mining tasks to prepare for
• Constructs syntax and computes/recodes variables to assist with data cleaning and statistical
• Scores data (for standardized measures) to prepare for
• Screens for missing data and imputes scores for missing values (using appropriate statistical methods).
• Cleans data to ensure that outliers have been resolved, data is distributed normally, that required assumptions are met for specific types of analyses, skip logic on standardized analyses is accurate and that data entry is standardized.
• Performs data quality assurance (QA) tasks, including data validity, consistency and completeness
• Creates, implements and maintains data entry, data tracking and data QA
• Adapts databases and systems based on changing types of
• Merges multiple databases for data entry and statistical
• Creates and implements data export process for data collected electronically, including but not limited to: constructing syntax for import and recoding, managing organization of electronic files, troubleshooting electronic-based data collection systems and databases and merging multiple databases
• Tracks deadlines and monitors progress on data tasks
• Develops performance standards for data entry, related data QA tasks, QA procedures and training and trains/disseminates information to relevant staff.
• Supervises data entry team and ensures staff compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assists Principal/Associate Investigators and TBICoE clinical research team with creating and revising research forms.
• Maintains a change-management process with a dynamic prioritization of change requests that is aligned to the mission and stakeholder requirements.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of HTML 4 and 5, CSS, Javascript, C#, .net, SQL and PLSQL preferred. Excellent communication - writing and analytical skills, basic clinical acumen, knowledge of universal precautions, organizational skills and proficiency in research conduct are required. Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing research tasks, especially unique requirements of longitudinal research, required. Demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient in data acquisition and clinical responsibilities related to specific research protocols preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of standard qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques preferred. Ability to follow general and detailed instructions required. Must be able to function as a team member and work independently. Familiarity with social science research methodology is required. S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology, Computer Science, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, or similar field; Master’s preferred.

Minimum Experience: 1-4 years’ experience in web-based application development for clinical research data. Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.

Physical Capabilities: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry light items up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment: Office, clinical and hospital environment. May encounter patients who are confused, agitated or abusive. Must be available to travel locally, regionally and nationally. May include hours in the late afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends, depending on study assessments and participant scheduling requirements.
