CIBT is Hiring a Remote Corporate Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and Reporting and work with the Consolidations and Accounting Managers to maintain the books and records of the corporate entities, maintain the chart of accounts and management reporting structures, complete the global, multi-currency consolidation and prepare global reporting for the executive team, the company’s board, and its lenders. To be successful in this position, this person will have expert Excel skills, a strong grasp of intermediate and advanced accounting principles, a good understanding of a consolidation and reporting application, excellent detail orientation, goal drive, be able to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment that spans the globe and a willingness to step outside of their day to day duties to take on additional projects and ad-hoc requests.

  • Support monthly and quarterly Executive and Shareholder reporting requirements
  • Support preparation of the Annual Financial Statements
  • Debt and interest accounting, reconciliation and reporting
  • Holding company intercompany debt accounting and reconciliation
  • General company month-end close activities including maintenance of various accounts and reconciliations
  • Track and record intercompany transactions and related foreign exchange revaluation gains/losses
  • Finance system support across multiple platforms
  • Assist with consolidation of the global business spanning 20 countries
  • Interface with external auditors to provide schedules and supporting documentation
  • Performing ad hoc projects and other duties as required
  • Lead initiatives to drive efficiencies and improve processes


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years in professional accounting position in public or corporate accounting. Big 4 or second tier firm preferred.
  • Bachelors in Accounting required.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Must be comfortable to own monthly processes and procedures and take the initiative to drive efficiencies
  • Strong functional and technical understanding of intermediate and advanced accounting principles, internal controls and applications.
  • Highest standard of organization, accuracy and precision in a time sensitive manner.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Must be analytical and detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated, goal driven individual with the ability to problem solve and work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a multi-cultural, diverse, global team environment.
  • Must be flexible, able to multi-task and work to deadlines managing competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with either Concur, Blackline, Exact or Planful a plus, but not required


WORKING CONDITIONS AND LOCATION

  • Office environment: exposure to computer screens, working closely with others in an open office environment.
  • Work location ins in McLean, VA. The ability to work from home/telework would be on a hybrid basis, as regular in-office support is required.
  • Work location complies with all COVID-19 safety protocols.

  • Visual acuity; ability to view computer screen for full shift, approximately eight hours
  • Sitting for extended period of time
  • Manual dexterity for operating a computer, keyboard and mouse
  • Speaking for operating a phone with ability to convey detailed information accurately and clearly
