The Compensation Analyst is a key resource to help CM Group maintain, evaluate and strengthen our compensation programs to attract and retain the best employee talent. This includes market pricing and benchmarking, job evaluation, and participation in a variety of activities to support the competitiveness of CM Group’s compensation programs.
1. Conducts market pricing analyses of CM Group roles to determine and maintain competitive and fair pay levels through pricing tools and industry surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. 2. Analyzes and determines appropriate pay grades for positions. Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other relevant information to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and to ensure internal equity and market competitivness.3. Collaborates with HR Business Partners and business leaders on compensation-related items including: job descriptions, and processes involving salary administration, restructures, new hire, transfer, and promotions.a. Provides input and guidance in the creation/editing of job descriptions.b. Provides advice on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluation.4. Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with HR staff to educate managers as appropriate. 5. Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.6. Analyzes internal and external salary information to validate CM Group's structure and recommend changes as needed. Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.7. Participates in other work to support strategy and administration of CM Group’s overall Total Rewards offering, including salary survey participation, performance increase and promotion cycles, compensation program communication & education, and variable pay plan administration. 8. Ensures that compensation actions are in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations impacting our compensation practices. 9. Uses judgement and highest level of professional confidentiality to safeguard compensation information and understands when to escalate issues.
• Typically requires 3-5 years' experience in market pricing analysis and compensation administration. • Bachelor's degree is required. Equivalent education and/or years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Human Resources or Compensation certification is preferred or working toward certification is desirable.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop professional working relationships and gain rapport. Demonstrates intrinsic and intentional customer service.• Ability to successfully manage relationships and work effectively in a team environment.• Strong problem-solving skills.• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.• Strong organizational skills, detail conscious, and flexibility in setting priorities and adjusting workload to manage a diverse range of activities and projects.• Strong knowledge of, and ability to work proficiently with, Microsoft Excel (e.g., vlookup, pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint.
