Massage Therapist
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required. Certification for Massage Therapist through an accredited institution required. Minimum of six (6) months practical experience as a massage therapist required, preferably in a spa or resort setting. Certification/License for other spa treatments preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification as a Massage Therapist must be presented prior to employment and certification requirements must be maintained during length of employment. Ability to perform Swedish and deep tissue massage required, with shiatsu and reflexology desired. Must have a well-rounded knowledge of human anatomy. Must have superior guest service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information due to the close contact with guests.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write basic instructions and correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to guests and other team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILTY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is also regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The Team Member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The Team Member is regularly required to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
