RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess and triage client medical needs to determine whether urgent, emergent or stable and refer clients as to urgent care, emergency department, dental, PCP, or on-site provider as indicated.
• Administer medication, change wound dressings and provide treatment options.
• Read and interpret patient information, monitor vital signs, weight, blood sugar, pain assessment, etc. for clients as need making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Communicate with Methadone clinic regarding observations of any concerns with Methadone clients if necessary.
• Complete initial intake including vital signs and weight. Review medications for all incoming admissions, create or update patient profiles.
• Provide direct client care, evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care processes indicated to adhere to legal, ethical, and clinical standards.
• Collaborate and consult with Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner and Medical Assistant while functioning as part of the interdisciplinary team when appropriate.
• Supervise Med Techs and nursing staff.
• Medication monitoring and inventory of prescription and OTC medication. Review count for controlled substances each shift (2 person to count).
• Complete list of job duties will be provided upon interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BS) degree, with (1-2) years of experience in Behavioral health, substance abuse and/or mental health.
• Active registered/licensed nurse in the state of Maryland
• CPR and First Aid Certification
