Description Summary: The Clinical Technician provides direct care and supervision of patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. The Clinical Technician has the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety, environmental safety, and manages patient behavior on the unit. The Clinical Technician will provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. While performing specific duties, the Clinical Technician must provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse violent situation, and correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
