Chowbus is Hiring a Remote People (HR) Generalist

Job Overview

We have a great opportunity for someone who is ready for their next People & Culture (HR) role. We're looking for someone who works well in an all-hands-on-deck, startup environment. You'll have the opportunity to touch all aspects of HR and partner with everyone in the company from our employees to our leaders to the CEO. 

The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle, as needed. Responsibilities include onboarding new team members, implementing benefits programs including open enrollment and life events, managing HR systems, overseeing data integrity and audits, reporting, data analytics, offboarding, and employee relations. This role has oversight of HR-related compliance including, but not limited to, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, and ADA.

What You'll Focus On

  • Coordinate and run onboarding and offboarding processes. Execute all assigned People (HR) programs for the company.
  • Act as a point of contact and support for employees and leaders for all HR-related items including all employee relations issues.
  • Administer benefit programs. Consult with and advise employees on eligibility for all benefits including insurance and 401(k). Develop and provide any necessary information and data to broker. Develop company cost information for new plans and makes recommendations to VP of People. Work with benefits broker to secure benefits and maintain cost effective use of the benefits. Coordinate yearly Open Enrollment program with employees & broker. Work as liaison with insurance carriers/broker and employees to resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain all HR systems and administer any necessary HRIS processes and requirements. Oversee data integrity, internal and external audits, reporting, and data analytics. Manage relationships with all HR vendors, in partnership with VP of People.
  • Responsible for compliance-related items such as EEO reporting, FMLA guidance, ADA and accommodations, and FLSA adherence. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to VP of People.
  • Support workers’ compensation, leave administration, unemployment claims processing, and employment verification processes.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities, as necessary.

What You Bring

  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin required.
  • Ability to maintain 100% confidentiality and professionalism with personnel information required.
  • Strong analytical and technological skills required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Must be extremely organized, detailed oriented, and reliable.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines, show initiative, and exemplify excellent personal accountability.
  • Must be a productive and collaborative team player.
  • Must possess an incredibly high sense of ethics and integrity.
  • Direct experience with benefits administration and HR compliance highly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state employers preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.

The salary range for this role is $60,000-80,000 depending on experience and location.
