Description
As a Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for correcting, completing, and processing claims of all payer codes. You will also be required to generate reports from a computer in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
· Enter Encounters for Assigned Clinics
· Work A/R lists that are assigned
· Answer clinic phone calls with questions
· Answer patient phone calls
· Take patient payments over the phone
· Respond to emails in a timely manner
· Call patients on collection list
· Filing
· Post Paper Checks
· Statements
DUTIES MAY ALSO INCLUDE:
o Post Money
o Work Hospital Charges
o Post electronic payments
o Post paper checks
o Send claims
o Clearing house rejections
o Collect PDF files for Insurance Remit
o Work denied claims for remits
o Work on flow lab sheets
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
· High School Diploma
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
· 1 or more years of Billing experience.
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have an intermediate level knowledge software packages including Microsoft
Office Products (Word, Excel and Power Point).
· Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work assignments.
· Must be able to simultaneously multitask and manage multiple objectives and priorities.
· Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision- making skills.
· Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with PMS, Patients/Parents and Business Associates.
· Must possess a high concern for the accuracy of information given including attention to the status and details of projects and assignments.
· Must possess a high degree of integrity and have ability to maintain confidentiality regarding Providers and CIMG’s proprietary information.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
· Working conditions of the position are a normal office situation.
· May work alone and closely with others.
· Able to calmly react to stressful situations and/or individuals.
· Work is completed sitting at a desk or table with intermittently standing, bending, crouching and stooping.
· May be required to do moderate lifting or carrying
· Capable of working in a fast paced environment and in stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
· Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external “customers” in a professional and courteous manner.
· May be require overnight travel 20% of the time.
· May be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
· Requires to drive long distances.
· Requires good hearing and good near or distant vision.
· Able to comply with all CIMG’s Employee’s Manual requirements.
