School-Based Therapist Job Description:

The Boone/Watauga County School-Based Therapist will provide brief intervention services to youth who have been referred through the school system. This is a very exciting opportunity, with COMPETITVE PAY and opportunities for PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT in which the ideal candidate would work within the school calendar with the added benefit of optional bonus work in the summer.

Other duties include:

• Provide comprehensive clinical assessments, crisis management and threat assessments.
• Develop and monitor treatment plans.
• Document treatment progress in the EHR.

40 Hours per week / 10 month schedule

Education and Experience Requirements

• The position requires a master's degree in a Human Service or related field plus one year of experience with a similar population.
• The position also requires valid NC licensure (LCSW/A, LMFT/A or LPMHC/A and LCAS/A.)
• Some positions require an LCAS.
• Requires knowledge and the ability to practically implement mental health regulations and clinical services.
• Requires effective communication, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, leadership and professionalism skills and abilities.
• Must have basic computer and math skills, have a valid Driver’s License, submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal, HCPR and driving checks.
