Position: Clinical Manager (CM) (Full-time, 12 Months, 40 hours/week)

Title: Clinical Manager - Onsite

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer – CEO (Executive)

Location: Lanham, Maryland

Work Schedule: Monday through Saturday (flexible hours)

Children’s Evaluation & Therapy Center is currently seeking an experienced onsite Clinical Manager (CM) for our Pediatric Outpatient Therapy Center located in Lanham, MD. The Clinical Manager (CM) position is an administrative and clinical leadership position that provides clinical oversight for a team of therapists and clients. The role of the Clinical Manager (CM) is to assess clients, develop treatment plans, and oversee the training and implementation of the client’s programs. The Clinical Manager (CM) will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the center.

This position would oversee all aspects of planning, growth, and program development for our Pediatric Outpatient Therapy Center. This role will have the direct responsibility of directing multi-discipline practitioners in Speech-Language, Occupational and Physical Therapy to include Administrative Support Staff work efforts of the organization by providing structured supervision sessions to therapists, staff orientation as well as direct Inservice activities, and competency assessments.

CETC’s CMis an experienced, consummate professional leader who demonstrates integrity, trustworthiness, and loyalty to Executive Leadership and exhibits genuine concern for all Team Members, as well as outstanding customer service. Key to this position is the CM’s capability to:

  • be an independent worker who strategically delegates tasks during day-to-day operations
  • exhibit sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

The CM abides by, promotes, and strictly enforces the company’s Vision, Twelve (12) Behavioral Competencies, and all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintains strict confidentiality of all corporate business matters, oversees lower-level managers and clinical team members, and supports the Executive Leadership (i.e., CEO) in all decisions. Furthermore, this Manager is actively involved in establishing, leading, and monitoring progress towards achieving all corporate goals and setting the course for corporate growth and expansion, as well as, ensuring quality assurance among all.

Key Functions:

CM reports to the CEO and supports them or his/her designee(s), and depending on the current organizational (staffing) structure and at the discretion of the CEO, essentially performs the duties outlined below. CM has broad decision-making authority and only as granted/authorized by the CEO. General duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, those outlined below:

Oversees and manages all onsite (Center-based) clinical operations (based on Corporate Functional Areas activities and Corporate Calendars) and services, as well as offsite (school/agency-based) evaluation & therapy services to ensure overall quality assurance.

Focuses on and achieves Executive Leadership’s corporate growth goals in partnership with the CEO (e.g., increasing Center visits, managing client billing, seeking new offsite agency clients through the formal bid process, corporate partnerships, or other means, and establishing new programming at the Center)

Strategically trains lower-level staff for the effective and successful performance of his/her duties

Oversees, supervises, and evaluates the performance of staff (i.e., lower level Managers, Team Leaders, Mentors/Supervisors, Administrative and Clinical Staff, Graduate Students, Volunteers, etc.)

Maintains a safe, clean, organized work environment

In conjunction with the CEO, manages and navigates Client Relations

Informs staff of all corporate (and offsite client/agency) policies and procedures and enforces compliance

Ignites “creativity” (e.g., “fresh ideas”) in others to improve clinical corporate operations and expand programming

Maintains minimal onsite/offsite caseload and billable hours (only if assigned or as determined by CEO) and assists with team coverage (as needed)

Reviews any and allcorporate written (email and hard copy) correspondence (e.g., reports, letters, for accuracy, thoroughness, and appropriateness before it is distributed/mailed

Based on defined corporate goals, establishes, and seek CEO approval for personal goals that market the company’s services and expand the organization (e.g., increase and meet weekly visit targets; identify, create, implement and maintain new programs and/or lines [of school/agency] business onsite/offsite, etc.)

By meeting with them at least weekly and by reviewing their treatment planning and daily documentation, you can ensure that these new practitioners meet the high standards of quality that you and the agency set for them.

Maintain a flexible, well-balanced weekly schedule so as to be aware of and meet the needs of all weekday operational oversight and familiarity with all staff’s performance and work habits

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Must be either a Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist (required)

5 years in respective field with 3 years supervision or 8 years combined supervision and program/clinical coordination, contract administration/management, marketing, and recruitment (required)

Must have at least 2 years of experience managing a clinic or pediatric outpatient center (required)

Master’s Degree or higher in SLP, OT, PT, or a related field (required)

Licensure as Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist in the State of Maryland in good standing and active (required)

Understanding, utilizing, and/or remaining abreast of best practices, standard concepts, and procedures within the professional’s respective field (required)

Manage and responsible for financial management and growth (required)

Working knowledge of related disciplines’ fields and services, special education mandates, interdisciplinary team (e.g., SLP, OT, PT, etc.) roles, and functions, IEPs, teletherapy, etc. (required)

Attention to detail, ability to establish priorities, and multi-task(required)

Excellent oral and written communication skills (required)

Working knowledge of standard computer software programs (e.g., MS WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint) and satisfactory word processing (typing) skills (required)

Excellent-to-exemplary professional skills (e.g., attendance/punctuality, organization, time management, flexibility, diligence, thoughtful, intuitiveness, problem-solving, responsiveness, and appearance), interpersonal, creativity, vision, and oral/written communication skills, and representing the company well. (required)

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands - Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up-to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
