We have a great opportunity for an IT Support Specialist I to join our growing company!

The IT Support Specialist I will provide technical support to end-users via telephone, in person, and through an IT Support ticketing system. This role is the first level support for internal customer support and technical issues.

This position is required to be in office at our corporate location: 6053 Veteran's Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31909

Requirements

  • Must possess advanced skills in troubleshooting more complex issues even when users cannot explain clearly.
  • Must show ability to identify trends and troubleshoot and escalate effectively
  • Must be able to assist other IT Support staff with issues
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with wide variety of non-technical users by phone and via email
  • Must be able to learn new technologies and procedures quickly
  • Must be able to document steps taken in a clear concise manner
  • Proficient with Windows 10 as well as Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with Google Suite including Google Docs, Drive and Sheets
  • Comfortable with hardware, software and network troubleshooting
  • Must have basic understanding of computer networking and VPN’s
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, research, diagnose and resolve a range of IT-related problems such as virus infections, software incompatibility, hardware errors, etc.
  • Must be able to use existing tools and find new tools to find solutions to end-user issues
  • Must be able to work on multiple, high priority tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work on-site in the Columbus, GA office Monday through Friday 8am-5pm and have additional availability and flexibility beyond those hours
  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter, creative, able to work independently, possess a strong attention to detail and have a “can do” attitude
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field preferred
  • 4 years of relevant technical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and emails from end users requesting technical support
  • Effectively evaluate urgency of and prioritize IT support issues
  • Provide technical support and resolve technical issues to the end user’s satisfaction
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to technical support requests 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to end users
  • Ensure all technical issues, actions taken, and resolutions are thoroughly documented in the IT support ticketing system
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot workstations, printers, software and hardware
  • Assist with onboarding of new users
  • Be proactive and find and resolve IT issues that may have not yet been reported
  • Assist Tier I Support team members with more complicated IT support issues
  • Escalate issues to the IT Manager, coworkers, and/or outside consultants/vendors when appropriate
  • Perform workstation hardware and software upgrades, as required
  • Keep inventory and other documentation up to date
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor and management.
