LEAD COOK JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a LEAD COOK to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations. LEAD COOK responsibilities include assisting with the following: supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the line and expedite orders, guiding all cooks to deliver quality food on time. Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience.
Lead Cook Responsibilities:
Check food plating and temperature
Follow guidelines set in place for portion sizes and plating
Train Line Cooks according to Virgil’s standards.
Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
Exhibit strong leadership skills with an affinity for capacity development.
Excellent conflict resolution abilities.
Innovative, and committed to your section and being in compliance
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
