Chief Seattle Club is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Seattle, WA

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Job Title: HR Generalist Effective Date: 09/29/2023 

Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer Salary Range: starting at $29.45 per hour

Status: ​☒​Regular ​☐​Temporary ​☒​Full-Time ​☐​Part-Time FLSA: ​☒​ Exempt ​☐​ Non-Exempt 

Job Summary: 
The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources Department that supports the department’s day-to-day administrative needs, manages the organizations’ HRIS and ATS system. This position is the main point of contact for staff questions regarding benefits, organization policies, employee handbook, and data tracking. The HR Generalist supports the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and HR Manager with staff training and development plans and implementation.
This position requires on-site work. Reports to the HR Manager. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to help develop, implement, support, and review all Human Resource Department initiatives, policies, procedures, and systems 

  • Assist managers and supervisors with updating job descriptions

  • Plan and guide supervisors/managers around annual performance reviews for all staff 

  • Assist CAO & HR Manager with benefits administration that also includes our 401k account 

  • Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status within HRIS System and or ATS System

  • Lead new hires with their first day with onboarding 

  • Keep inventory of CSC swag items for new hires and suggest items for order 

  • Update the All-Staff SharePoint with latest template documents, and other employee related resources 

  • Maintain template for job descriptions and other related HR forms 

  • Keep up to date staff tracking information such training completions, federal/state family leave and PTO tier anniversaries 

  • Plan, implement and lead monthly staff trainings such as CPR, First Aid, and orientations with HR Generalist team 

  • Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner 

  • Composure and confidentiality required to handle disciplinary and grievance issues 

  • Administrative duties, including upkeep of digital and physical employee records 

  • Compliance with all policies and legal requirements 

  • Perceptive nature, careful monitoring of working conditions to ensure legal compliance 

  • Report any staff changes with the Personnel Action Form 

  • Assist CAO and HR Manager with staff terminations 

  • Work collaboratively with Payroll, HR Manager, HR Generalists and the benefits brokerage on shared employee information such as direct deposit, address, and benefit changes.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

  • Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g. pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development). 

  • Commitment to staying current on understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and knowledge of HRIS’s and ATS systems

  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. 

  • Strength of character, ethics, commitment, and reliability. 

  • Experience working in an organization that serves vulnerable communities 

  • Knowledge and understanding of historical and intergenerational trauma, and what that means to the Native American community. 

Education and Experience: 

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required. 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work at a stationary work space for long periods of time, with mobility to move throughout the office; use a PC, constantly reaching with hands and fingers and keyboarding extensively; work with team as frequent communication is required, including use of the telephone; be able to read and write documents in hard and electronic copy, including those requiring great attention to detail; have the physical strength and agility to handle routine office tasks and machinery. Occasional travel may be required for certain employees depending on location. 

 
This position is typically in an office environment with desktop business equipment and frequent telephone calls. Noise level is moderate. Frequent interruptions are common, while under deadlines and time constraints. 

Most positions at CSC are exposed to members of the community who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, financial hardship, etc. As a result, staff is at risk of secondary trauma. Employees are encouraged to seek external support and maintain self-care when working indirectly or directly with clients. Mental health care referrals for employees are available
