Description

The Training and Development Specialist improves Team Member productivity through company-wide developmental needs assessments that drive suitable training solutions. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Develops training and development programs and objectives, modifying programs as needed.
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Trains and coaches’ managers, supervisors and others involved in Team Member development efforts.
  • Plans, organizes, and facilitates Team Member development and training events.
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure Team Members have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results. Use of survey platforms to assess training, learning and retention.
  •  Coordinates with management the scheduling of training programs for all Team Members, ensuring successful completion. 
  •  Continually evaluates training procedures and progress to monitor and analyze effectiveness, updating curriculum as needed.
  • Develops and maintains training materials and online resources.
  • Effectively utilizes an LMS to include course design, distribution and assessment.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Works effectively as a Team Member with other members of management and the HR staff.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Five years of experience designing and implementing Team Member development programs.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
  • ATD Certification or soft skill certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development options and alternatives.

Working Conditions

  • Long periods of sitting, standing and/or walking.

Physical Requirements

Team Members are required to be able to meet the physical demands essential to the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Occasionally Required

Exerting 20-50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull to move objects. Climbing to move objects may be required at times.Exerting over 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull to move objects.
