OUR STORY THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball’s National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1914, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE: The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing human resources support to assigned departments. This role is accountable to ensure operational excellence in the execution of all HR processes and compliance with all applicable plans, contracts, laws and regulations. THE DAY-TO-DAY: Guide managers through the execution of HR processes and programs Interpret and advise on HR policies; maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day to day management of employees; understand all MLB policy requirements and ensure compliance throughout the year Responsible for timely onboarding experience; coordinate with all departments (IT, Payroll, HR Operations) to ensure all onboarding activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner Maintain an efficient flow of information between departments; work with Payroll and HR Operations to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner Serve as point person for visa and immigration processes Work with business leaders and HR team to identify and implement HR process improvements Consult with and advise managers on employee relations; conduct investigations and ensure consistent application of disciplinary actions Provide day to day coaching and performance management guidance; work with managers and employees to build strong work relationships, resulting in high productivity and associate retention Partner with leaders on projects, including diversity hiring initiatives Use data and analytics to assess organizational health; partner with the business to develop and implement plans to address any issues identified and ensure positive associate relations Assess and identify training needs for individuals and the organization; develop, evaluate and monitor programs to make sure learning objectives are met WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources, Business or other related area 5 years experience in Human Resources Strong working knowledge of employment law, including hiring practices, EEO, wage and hour laws, etc. Demonstrated experience effectively managing wide range of employee relations matters Practical, results-oriented and solutions focused approach Strong business acumen Highly collaborative, able to build strong relationships across the organization, including senior leadership Ability to influence business partners and build consensus among stakeholders; demonstrated track record of establishing self as a trusted advisor Positive, can-do attitude Strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to consistently work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends and game days Ability to travel up to 30% of the time WHAT SETS YOU APART: Experience designing new processes or programs Fluent in Spanish Project management experience Demonstrated experience with Workday TOTAL REWARDS: On-site parking Transit benefits Paid time off: Winter Break, Personal, Sick & Vacation Time Casual work attire environment Complimentary Meal & beverage plan Cubs home game ticket allotment Access to campus wide Wrigley Field events & pre-sales 401K Plan Employee Contribution & Employer Match Benefit Plans: Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance and more Health & Wellness engagement & programming Variety of associate special events, volunteer opportunities and partnership discounts Access to online associate recognition & rewards platform Tuition Reimbursement Response Expectations: Due to the overwhelming number of applications we receive, we unfortunately may not be able to respond in person to each applicant.
