Chesapeake Medical Imaging is Hiring a Mammography Technologist Near Annapolis, MD

Chesapeake Medical Imaging, a reputable private radiology practice, is looking for a Full-Time Mammography Technologist for our Annapolis location. The current schedule for this role is a 4-day, 10-hour shift.

HOURS: 4 day - 10 hour shift, Tuesday - Friday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Treats patients and customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Checks referral for appropriate study and diagnosis. Calls referring physician and check with the radiologist when in doubt or with questions as necessary.
  • Assures room is ready prior to the patient entering the room (i.e. Equipment is operable and all supplies are readily available).
  • Assist radiologist in special procedures when necessary.
  • Understands and uses correct exposure factors, compression, and angulation in order to produce high quality images.
  • Checks and documents patient histories and has patient sign waiver, if necessary.
  • Consults with Radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate exam (screening or diagnostic).
  • Puts patients at ease by explaining the procedure and responding to their questions/requests in a professional manner.
  • Handles delicate situations in a supportive and empathetic manner.
  • Monitors patient’s well being during exam; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
  • Keeps patient schedule and accommodates add-on patients when requested.
  • Communicates delays or changes in the schedule to the appropriate person(s).
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding image quality; determines when repeats are necessary.
  • Releases patient with proper follow-up information.
  • Practices universal medical precautions.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Respect rights of family members that are accompanying the patient.
  • Remains professional in all situations.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • License Requirements: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Registered in Mammography (ARRT).
  • Must possess 1 year of mammography experience. Prefer mammography quality assurance knowledge and experience.
