HYBRID ROLE BASED OUT OF PARSIPPANY, NJ

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Cost Accountant will participate in month-end closing activities for the Water Treatment plants, assist in the preparation of reports summarizing business results, perform variance analysis, assist in the preparation of the annual Plan and quarterly Outlook for the Water Treatment business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Annual Plan & Outlooks:

• As directed by the Operations Controller, assist in the process of gathering assumptions from Manufacturing functions for Plant fixed cost spending into the annual Plan and quarterly Outlook for the Water Treatment Business.

Month End Closing:

• As directed by the Operations Controller, assist in the process of month end closing for the Water Treatment Business.
• Maintenance and posting of monthly standard journal entries
• Inventory reconciliations
• Various Balance Sheet account Reconciliations & analysis
• Cost Center spend review
• Capital Lease analysis

Monthly / Quarterly Report & Analysis:

• Assists in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for Business Controller which highlight and explain significant variances between actual results and Plan for the Water Treatment business
• Prepare specific analysis and explanations versus Plan including:
• Plant Fixed Cost spending
• Private Fleet spending
• Plant Production volumes

• Other analyses as directed by Business Controllers

Special Projects:

• As required, provide information or complete one-time analysis / modelling as periodically requested by the Business Controllers.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• University degree in accounting or finance
• Accounting ERP System skill and experience, SAP a plus
• Strong MS Excel skills required (formulas (such as functions, Pivot tables, linking multiple workbooks).
• Analytical skills
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

The US base salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000 bonus benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.
