Chemours is seeking a Maintenance Area Manager to join our growing Maintenance team! This position will report directly to the Unit Manager at our New Johnsonville, Tennessee location. The Maintenance Area Manager is a leadership position accountable and responsible for managing the unit’s maintenance program. This role is also accountable and responsible for the site’s Maintenance organization and Stores. Ensuring safe maintenance practices and procedures are a key part of this role. Managing through issues/concerns with employees is also vital, and both tasks will require the establishment of safety leadership within this role. Management of corrective action items and their completion will also be required for this position. Supporting operations by ensuring equipment is repaired and maintained properly is key to the success of this unit. This role has a budget of approximately $50,000,000, so a significant part of this role will involve cost management and opportunities for cost reductions. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsible for safe and efficient operation, quality and on-time delivery of maintenance services. Lead continuous improvement programs and initiatives for maintenance through the application of tools like root cause failure analysis, defect elimination and Six Sigma. Provide leadership, direction, and development for the area maintenance organization in low and high hazard PSM areas. Typically provides leadership for ~ 130 direct and indirect reports, throughout multiple maintenance shops Manages maintenance cost, quality of services, resources and schedules. Responsible for effectively managing daily maintenance work and shutdowns and for managing the customer interface with Operations counterparts. Responsible for driving improvements in the Work Management Process. Ensures coordination of production and shutdown schedules, as well as understanding of customer needs through established communication channels with business leadership and supply chain. Provide leadership for Six Sigma to achieve key performance targets and improvement strategies. Accountable for cost control for the maintenance function, including establishing and meeting fixed cost objectives, along with other metrics including overtime, PSM compliance, and training compliance. Sets expectations for adherence to policies and procedures and safety standards. Drives for high standard of employee morale, ethics and respectful treatment and behavior. Demonstrates value for safety leadership principles and for creating a respectful work environment. Effectively communicates and networks across the organization. The following is required for this role: High school/GED diploma Minimum 2 years Manufacturing / Operations experience Proficient with computer systems such as Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Excel Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects Demonstrated skill in leadership, team building and ability to hold others accountable Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
