Chaves County Health Council is Hiring a Community Health Worker Near Hagerman, NM

The Community Health Worker (CHW) will be utilized in targeted outreach efforts to increase the awareness of behavioral health resources, including the 988 Crisis Line, in Chaves County.

Position Summary: The Community Health Worker (CHW) will be utilized in targeted outreach efforts to increase the awareness of behavioral health resources, including the 988 Crisis Line, in Chaves County. Functions include engaging with the community through individual encounters, organizational encounters, and event encounters. Participate in project evaluation activities. Use of a database to document outreach activities related to the program goals, including type of outreach, population reached, information and referrals provided. Identify community concerns about community behavioral health resources and needs; tailor messaging and communication to address these concerns. Build relationships with community partners and engage in policy/advocacy work to mitigate barriers and decrease stigma associated with behavioral health needs. This position includes participation in ongoing training on the CHW and organizational levels.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a HSD. Bilingual preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and have transportation to and from work. Proof of current vehicle insurance is required. Specific job training will be provided after hire. Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English. Ability to utilize computers, a personal smartphone, and various software applications, including email, google suite (google docs, google sheets, and others). Position requires, on occasion, work beyond normal business hours and/or extended hours, nights and weekends.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule:
