The Chartis Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Chicago. The AP Specialist will be an integral part of the finance team and the accounts payable activities of a growing, fast-paced professional services firm.

Responsibilities:

• Daily review of AP emails, enter invoices into ERP system and set-up new vendors
• Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices, confirm the correct general ledger account and department codes are used before entering vendor invoice
• Ensure documentation is maintained and saved for each invoice
• Responsible for processing Check/ACH/Wires disbursements on the regular payment cycle. paying company bills within a given timeframe and ensuring that financial statements include the correct information.
• Monitor monthly corporate credit card transactions, upload to general ledger
• Participant in ERP system enhancements
• And various other duties as requested by leadership

Experience:

• Knowledge of general ledger, accounting procedures (GAAP) and proficient typing/10-key skills.
• Good listening, communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Ability to effectively multi-task.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred - Associate degree in accounting with applicable work experience will be considered.
• Bookkeeping experience - accounts payable experience (preferred)
