L.A. Turbine (LAT), a Chart Industries Company, is a design and manufacturing company creating application-specific, highly engineered turboexpanders that are used in hydrocarbon processing, geothermal power generation, and other power-recovery or refrigeration applications in industrial processes worldwide. Our turboexpander configurations include an expander-compressor with oil or active magnetic bearings, expander-generator, and expander-dyno (brake) units.

LAT also provides comprehensive aftermarket services including repair, redesign, spare part production and commissioning for all OEM turboexpander makes and models.

The company’s operation is vertically integrated with a best-in-class engineering team, a 90,000 sq. foot manufacturing facility staffed with skilled craftsman and equipment to perform component production with state-of-the-art CNC machinery; mechanical, PLC and electrical assembly; metal fabrication; packaging and in-house resonance, balancing, and mechanical run tests.

Company headquarters and manufacturing is in Valencia, California. The company’s global outreach is extended through 17 worldwide business partners.

Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure that our customers' experience the highest level of service possible. You will identify issues and concerns addressed by customers and apply relevant policies to resolve the issue, will be a primary point of contact for client interactions and must apply problem solving techniques and project management methods to maintain strong client relationships. You will also identify and drive initiatives to improve the customer experience, and will measure and own the business results. This includes identifying and analyzing cost/benefit impacts. You will collaborate with numerous operational teams to identify, define, and specify solutions for the customer. You will build collaborative relationships with these partners, working closely with them to create and execute. You will prepare and present regular program updates to senior management.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Resolve service issues in a proactive manner.
  • Utilize field service team as extension to customer service department.
  • Measure customer satisfaction level and other key metrics and setting, tracking and achieving improvement goals.
  • Maintain superior customer satisfaction levels.
  • Identify and drive operating efficiencies, identifying and expanding best practices.
  • Ensure departmental initiatives are executed in accordance with quarterly, yearly goals and budgets.
  • Continuous audit of aftermarket organization. Find opportunities to develop and implement new strategies for project execution and product development.
  • Develop and manage the handoff of new equipment to aftermarket.
  • Work with the necessary internal departments to solve lasting customer problems.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and encourage prompt action and resolution by responsible departments on all customer issues (Finance, Warranty, Parts Logistics, Authorized or Factory-owned service facilities, Publications, Technical Services and Training).
  • Work hand-in-hand with the local Field Service Representatives and maintain regular contact with the customer and members of L.A. Turbine team to ensure the concerns are continually addressed by the organization.
  • Provide support for escalated issues and work with the functional groups to strategize solutions for issue resolution.
  • Investigate issues thoroughly and maintain a global overview of the entire customer experience.
  • Coordinate responses to customer queries from appropriate line or senior management to ensure the customer’s expectations are met.
  • Establish and maintain a mechanism for Contacting customers regularly to remain informed of developments and anticipate potential issues.
  • Conduct recurrent customer visits in a proactive manner to develop strong relationships.
  • Prepare regular reports for management detailing regional activities and individual customer concerns.

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

$75K-$120K DOE

The individual is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear, operate office equipment (computer, copier, scanner, phone, etc.) and repetitive motion. The individual is occasionally required to climb, , stoop, kneel, or crouch. The individual may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position is subject to an office environment and rare occasions to an uncontrolled manufacturing shop with environmental conditions, which could expose associate to noise and oils as well as subjected to hazards such as, but not limited to, moving parts and vehicles, heat and chemicals.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience, and more than five (5) years in an engineering or turbo machinery environment.
  • Must have ERP experience, preferably J.D. Edwards
  • Demonstrate superior customer-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrates understanding of product/project specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be well-organized and able to manage time efficiently.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be accurate and thorough when capturing and communicating data.
  • Available to travel as needed (approximately 25% of the time).
