Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Center, TX

Summary: Plan, analyze and create visual communication solutions, gather/research information, identifies needs of clients, prepares sketches or layouts by hand or with the computer, present completed designs to clients and assist in printing (pre-press) and occasionally supervise interns.

Essential Duties:

  • Plan ideas and draft samples or mock-ups using computer software and/or drawings
  • Research job topic to better understand design needs and target audiences
  • Work revisions or finalize design for printing
  • Communicate with clients about design needs and deadline expectations
  • Collaborate with client(s) to ensure designs fit needs
  • Prepare artwork for printing/pre-press
  • Organize files for data storage and prepare info for billing
  • Designs high profile, complex layouts (i.e. brochures, booklets, posters, reports, etc.) for print production
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Minimum

  • Associate's Degree
  • 3 years but less than 5 years of previous experience required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of software, techniques, color theory, typography & methods used in Graphic Design.
  • Thorough knowledge of aesthetic concepts and all design principals.
  • Knowledge of papers, inks, printing processes (examples - papers: weights and uses - colors: spot versus process)
  • Ability to plan and time manage multiple projects, on time and under budget.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of other fine arts such as photography and illustration
