Responsibilities

The Charlotte Lab School Registrar will have responsibilities in support of Lab’s instructional vision:

  • Serve as a liaison between the Head and/or Assistant Heads of School, PowerSchool representative and students/families;
  • Align with the mission, vision and beliefs about all Lab students and ensure we are carrying out equitable practices;
  • Note any academic concerns brought up in team meetings and when applicable, make referrals to the Wellness Team, Academic Support Team, & Student Services Coordinator

The Charlotte Lab School Registrar will have responsibilities in support of Lab’s systems and operations vision:

  • maintain student records and course data, which can include:
    • helping students schedule or register for classes, as well as assisting with schedule changes, withdrawals from classes and transfer of student records;
    • collaborating with our PowerSchool representative to update files with class credits and grades, and evaluating records to ensure that academic performance meets graduation requirements;
    • maintaining and archiving academic records; 
    • understanding and working effectively with people of differing backgrounds, languages and cultures;
    • take on other responsibilities as needed, and as assigned, to ensure organizational success;
  • collaborate with Head and/or Assistant Heads of School, PowerSchool representative and students/families to ensure student schedules are up-to-date and provide a balance between student choice and class qualifications;
  • assist Campus Operations Manager with maintaining physical and computerized records including student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, class rosters, schedule changes, and grade books. 

Qualifications

Candidate MUST:

  • Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above;
  • Demonstrate experience in, or passion for, teaching diverse populations.

In addition, the Lab School Leadership Team will look favorably upon candidates who:

PREPARATION:

  • Have a least 2 years of full-time teaching/leading experience;
  • Have experience teaching relevant content area;
  • Have an advanced degree in a related field;
  • Can demonstrate strong student achievement results in relevant content area(s);
  • Possess strong classroom management skills;
  • Have experience with standards based grading;
  • Have dual-certification to teach:
  • Exceptional Children 
  • Academically Gifted students 
  • English as a Second Language;For the

  • Possess excellent written communication skills;

Compensation

Compensation for this internal position can be expected to be a set stipend amount of $1500.00 for specific deliverables and assessment coordination across the span of the school year.
